Hwange National Park

Day 3 - Day 5

Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s biggest reserve, rich in wildlife that includes giraffe, lion, zebra and approximately 40 000 elephants.

It provides a sanctuary for all the country’s endangered species, including a population of wild dogs thought to be among the most sizeable surviving groups on the continent.

Terrain ranges from desert dunes and savannah lands to rocky outcrops and sparse forests. Visitors have the choice of game drives, guided walks or horseback safaris as a means of experiencing and exploring Hwange.

The game viewing here is good, the safari camps small and well-hosted.

Tours & Experiences

A typical day at The Hide, begins with an early wake-up call, coffee/tea and a snack before heading out on the morning game drive or guided walking safari, returning to camp mid-morning for an al fresco brunch under the trees.

Then it's time to relax in the heat of the day, either at the plunge pool, on your verandah or taking the underground tunnel to the sunken hide for close encounter wildlife viewing.

Later this afternoon, there's another safari drive that often continues into a night safari to search for elusive nocturnal animals before returning to camp for dinner and stories of the day shared around the outdoor firepit.
