Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, is the starting point for holidays in the northern safari circuit.
The town is situated below Mount Meru, adjacent to the Arusha National Park known for its canoe trips, guided hikes, and 4×4 safari drives with a picnic lunch.
With a good choice of places to stay and the option to visit Arusha National Park, Arusha is a welcome stop-over town for a night or two at the beginning of a safari holiday.
Katambuga House is in a peaceful garden setting with views of Mount Meru and expansive coffee estates, conveniently close to Arusha Airport, or a one hour drive from Kilimanjaro Airport.
Accommodation is provided in 4 en-suite rooms in the main house, and 2 interleading ensuite rooms in the family cottage. Central areas include a lounge and dining area, large verandah and pool deck.

The Eastern Serengeti is one of the most remote and wildlife-rich areas of the Serengeti National Park, with vast open plains, granite kopjes, and low vehicle density that offers an exclusive safari experience with excellent predator sightings, particularly cheetah, lion, and hyena, as well as large resident game populations year-round.
The area is recognised for exceptional big cat viewing, photographic opportunities, and a quieter, more private safari atmosphere compared to the busier central Serengeti corridor.
Olmara Camp is situated in the far eastern plains of the Serengeti, in a quiet area of the Serengeti, rich with wildlife.
Accommodation is provided in eight spacious tented walk-in suites, with views across a river valley and the plains beyond, three of which have an upper open area to sleep under the stars. Each suite has an ensuite bathroom, with shower, double basins and flush toilet. Central areas include a lounge, dining area, and an outdoor firepit where guests gather at the end of the day to share their safari stories.
Twice daily safari drives are done from the camp. Optional walking safaris can be arranged during your stay, providing an opportunity to discover nature close at hand.
