Franschhoek

Day 5 - Day 7

Spectacular mountain scenery, fine hotels and guesthouses, three centuries of wine making, and many of South Africa’s top restaurants combine to make the Cape Winelands a retreat for relaxation and good food.

Franschhoek is one of the must-visit very pretty small towns in the area.

Tucked in between mountains, with a fine reputation of food and wine, and a history dating back to the arrival of the French Huguenots who settled here more than 300 years ago, Franschhoek is a favourite as a base to explore the region.

There’s a choice of rooms, all ensuite, spacious and beautifully furnished, with views of either the garden, pool or lavender fields. The central areas include a breakfast room, and an outdoor pool with mountain and lavender views.
