Moremi Game Reserve

Day 2 - Day 4

Botswana’s Chief Moremi created the Moremi Game Reserve in 1963, conserving part of the Okavango Delta and the plains to the east that covers 4871 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, with varied terrain including savannah, winding waterways and thick forest.

This diverse habitat supports and protects a wide spectrum of wildlife. Large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog habituate in the Moremi Game Reserve.

The birdlife is prolific here, and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on the Botswana national bird list.

Chobe River Front

Day 5 - Day 7

The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its reliable and diverse game viewing. Permanent water, vast floodplains, and varied surrounding habitat makes it ideal for boat trips and 4×4 safaris.

This is elephant country, home to one of the largest elephant populations in Africa, with sightings of large herds drinking, swimming and crossing the river a daily occurrence. Hippo are equally plentiful, wallowing in the shallow water during the day, and grazing on the banks in the evening.  There’s also a strong presence of buffalo, lion and crocodile in the area, and the birdlife throughout is excellent.
